DIY Dried Flower Crafts
There is something so beautiful and bright about using real flowers in crafts. Although many crafts using real flowers have a short life span, when using dried flowers, they can be pressed and kept looking bright and new. Try creating this dried flower garland that you can drape over your mantel or down a banister.
Supplies
- Dried flowers, large seed heads, grasses, wheat
- Twine
- Scissors
- A branch
Steps
- Cut 5 equal sections of twine. The length will vary depending on where you plan to hang your garland.
- Trim your flowers into small sprigs with an inch or two of stem.
- Tie a loop at one end of the twine.
- At about 2-3 inches from the top loop, tie a double knot around the top section of the stem. Try to tie it under a set of leaves.
- Repeat tying flowers at intervals apart from each other. You can space them as close or as far as you want.
- After you have made 5 garlands, it’s time to hang them on the branch. Slip the loops over the branch, spacing them a few inches apart.
- Cut another 2-foot length of twine. Tie onto each end of the branch.
